The Manor Barn is one of a collection of sought after Cotswold self-catering properties. The owners have taken a traditional barn and transformed it with a stylish, contemporary conversion to provide an exceptional standard of accommodation for up to 14 people in five bedrooms. The location of the house, just outside of Witney and only a 20-minute walk from the popular Lord Kitchener gastropub, is hard to beat. If you are planning a holiday with friends or extended family or a celebratory event (hen and stag parties welcome), then The Manor Barn is perfect for you.
The Cotswolds is the best of the British countryside wrapped up in a big, beautiful bow. Visitors to The Manor Barn can enjoy long country walks through fields and beside hedgerows bursting with life, leisurely lunches in friendly country pubs, shopping in an increasing variety of independent retailers, and seeing amazing sights such as Blenheim Palace and the spires of Oxford. The nearby village of Bampton is so picturesque that the makers of Downton Abbey used it extensively as a set for the popular television drama. In addition to a village shop, gallery and supermarket, Bampton boasts an excellent butcher on Brook Street which only sells meat reared within a 30-mile radius.
The house is at the end of a long driveway and surrounded by 70 acres of private parkland, giving guests space and privacy to unwind and relax. There is loads of room to arrange games and activities indoors and out, or guests can choose to sit quietly and watch the dragonflies flit around the pond. Guests can relax in their private outdoor hot tub and make use of the entertainment in the shared games room housed nearby.
Those who want to venture off the estate will find plenty to occupy them. Days out can include trips to see the historic city of Oxford, shopping in the designer outlets at Bicester Village, touring pretty Cotswold villages and towns like Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, or seeing the animals at the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
The Manor Barn is one of a collection of nine fantastic holiday properties at The Cotswold Manor Estate sleeping between 10 and 30 guests. Each property can be booked individually or together to host events like stag and hen weekends, family weddings, or corporate team building sessions. The estate's manager can offer advice and help in arranging on-site activities and recommend local businesses to help you create precisely the holiday you desire.
