Smallthorns Barn is a beautifully converted barn which provides 4 Star (VisitBritain) self catering holiday accommodation for up to four guests. With an attractive outlook across fields, it is ideally situated in a quiet rural location, yet conveniently close to the picturesque town of Market Harborough, with its eating establishments, boutiques, bustling streets and sports centre with swimming pool.
This is a superb base from which to explore the area for both couples and families. Centrally located on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire borders, it is within easy reach of many interesting places and attractions including: Melton Mowbray, Rugby, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick - all within an hour's drive. Closer to home are Althorp House, Rockingham Castle and Kelmarsh Hall. The National Space centre in Leicester makes an interesting day out or you can follow the Naseby Battlefield trail around Naseby and Clipston and the surrounding countryside around Smallthorns Barn.
For those who enjoy walking, there are local footpaths where you can explore the area by foot or you can go to the Welland Valley which has lovely walks through traditional English countryside and idyllic stone villages. The area also offers golf, sailing, riding, fishing and gliding at the National Soaring centre - all available locally.
The holiday cottage is available all year round and the owners try to be flexible with changeover days wherever possible. Being easily accessible from the A14, M6 and M1, Smallthorns Barn is a perfect base for a family holiday. It has a light and airy atmosphere inside to relax in and from the comfort of the sofa or the terrace you can watch the sun set over the fields. Located on a busy farm there are often animals to watch nearby or tractors working in the field.

Accommodation comprises:
Comfortable spacious living/kitchen room with a beamed ceiling and French doors leading out to terrace where you can enjoy a big view and wonderful sunsets. There are two sofas and a television with DVD. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a separate utility area.
Attractive double bedroom with a view through the French doors to the terrace and beyond. All the beds are good quality to ensure a good night's sleep, made up with duvets, anti allergy pillows and good quality linen.
Twin room with two full size, comfortable, single beds. Both rooms have wardrobes and plenty of storage.
Bathroom with a full size bath with shower over. Shaver point.
Outside: The garden is walled and south facing with a terrace. It is ideal for young children as it is both private and secure. BBQ, table and chairs are supplied. Spacious parking for two cars immediately outside - please note there is limited public transport in the immediate area.
Additional information: Underfloor heating throughout. The cottage is non-smoking, and sadly the owners are unable to accept pets. A cot and a highchair are available on request - please mention when booking. There is a phone for incoming calls only. The nearest shop is approximately two miles away in Naseby but there are two pubs serving food within walking distance in Clipston. Babysitting can be arranged. Prices include all heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. Short breaks and longer stays are available, please contact the owners for prices. Changeover day is usually Friday but again, please contact the owners if you would like to make other arrangements.
