Somerset Manor is a big holiday home in Taunton for groups. When we say "big", we mean impressively spacious - large enough to sleep 20 guests in nine bedrooms with six bathrooms, a games room, a tennis court, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a full-sized football pitch, a gym, and 28 gated acres of grounds. The owners have carefully renovated this Georgian beauty, repairing and restoring original features and adding contemporary luxuries to ensure comfort and privacy. The self-catering facilities are superb, with a well-equipped kitchen matched by the elegant dining room with seating for up to 26 people. Guests have used Somerset Manor to celebrate special occasions, enjoy a reunion with far-flung friends, and host workshops to focus on things like writing and well-being.
Taunton is a busy country town with a lively buzz in all seasons. The property is on the outskirts, with easy access to the M5, Taunton Racecourse and Taunton Golf Club. Shops, restaurants and other amenities are less than three miles away, with Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, and Waitrose delivering groceries to the house. There are so many ways to relax and have fun at the house that you probably won't want to leave unless you're there to attend a Somerset wedding. However, if you fancy a jaunt, local attractions and activities include the West Somerset Railway, horseriding and mountain biking in the Blackdown Hills and the Quantocks, National Trust Dunster Castle and Watermill, and Minehead's beaches and pier. Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral, and Glastonbury are all under an hour's drive.
One of the many reasons guests love Somerset Manor so much is that it's wonderfully easy to keep everyone happy and entertained. There is so much space indoors and outside that it never feels cramped or overflowing. Choose from lounging by the pool, picnicking in the orchard, catching up with tall tales around the open fire in the sitting room, or hosting fun-filled film nights or console competitions in the media room. Hire yoga tutors, mixologists and chefs to add to the upmarket country house weekend vibe. The size and layout of the big house allow you the flexibility to plan an itinerary to precisely suit your needs. Somerset Manor is a beautifully renovated holiday home at the end of a long driveway behind electric gates. Accommodation is over two levels. All shared spaces are on the ground floor. Keeping the social areas separate helps ensure those who like to go to bed early or rise late don't disturb their sleep.

Outside: With 28 beautifully kept acres of grounds, there is lots of room for everyone. The property includes a full-sized all-weather tennis court, a full-sized football pitch, a heated outdoor swimming pool with a terrace and sun loungers, and ample off-street parking behind the electric gates.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels, and wood for the drawing room fireplace are provided. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small nightly surcharge. Smoking is not allowed inside Haygrass House.

There is also a 2 bedroom stables flat available, which sleeps 6, that can be hired. The rental is £700 for a weekend and £1,200 for a week. This is never let out separately to the main house, so you always have exclusive use.
