About Tatham House

Tatham House will blow you away. The big holiday house in Somerset has everything you could want for a self-catering group holiday. Highlights include space for 22 guests to sleep in ten beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms, acres of grounds that include a tennis court, hot tub and indoor pool, and interiors that look like they've been lifted straight from the pages of a designer magazine. You and your guests can enjoy endless peace and privacy in a location convenient for the Quantocks and Taunton and within a ten-minute walk of The Lethbridge Arms pub in Bishops Lydeard. This house has hosted family reunions, celebrations, luxury hen weekends, and work functions. It's perfect for your plans.

You probably won't leave the grounds of Tatham House. Close the gates to the long driveway and enjoy everything that makes this place a popular house for guests of all ages. Inside, the lower ground floor is a cinema and games room featuring table tennis and a pool table as well as comfortable seating and a screen. Fold back the doors between the indoor pool and the walled garden for barbecues and relaxed socialising. We wouldn't blame you for sneaking off for a quiet hour on a sun lounger with a book you've grabbed from the library, or perhaps a game of tennis on the all-weather court is more your speed?

If you do choose to venture out, you'll find lots to do in all seasons. The Quantock Hills AONB has miles of footpaths, bridleways and mountain bike trails, with more in Exmoor National Park. You're only a few miles from Taunton and local attractions include the West Somerset Railway, Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, and Minehead's beaches and pier. There are National Trust properties like Fyne Court and Dunster Castle, natural marvels such as Cheddar Gorge, and family-friendly attractions that include Exmoor Zoo, Go Ape, and the Haynes Motor Museum.

Accommodation at Tatham House sprawls elegantly over two floors.

Downstairs:

Large reception hall with stairs leading to the upper level, kitchen, dining room and sitting room. Carved wood panelling and tartan carpet on the stairs are just the start of the country house decor. A secret library is tucked away in a corner with shelves full of books and a comfortable chair in which to read.
Catering standard kitchen with ample space to store food and prepare meals. It is well equipped for cooking for yourselves or professional catering.
The dining room is partially open to the kitchen and features sash windows and a dining table that seats twenty two people.
A drawing room and reception room can be used as one space or two, depending on whether you slide open the connecting doors or not. Large windows flood the rooms with natural light and look out onto the gardens. There is also a separate snug with three sofas and a decorative fireplace.
There are two downstairs bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, both with ensuite shower rooms. All bedrooms have a flatscreen TV.

Upstairs:

There are eight further ensuite bedrooms on the upper level. Six are zip and link superking/twin rooms (one room also has an extra king size bed making it ideal for families) and two have king-sized beds. Beds are made up for your arrival and bath towels are provided.

Lower Ground Floor: cinema and games room.

Outside: A separate building houses the indoor pool. It has a terrace and is next to the tennis court. There is also a large lawn, mature landscaped grounds, a hot tub and ample parking.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath and pool towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement and with a small surcharge. Children must be supervised around the swimming pool and hot tub. Smoking indoors is not permitted.
