2 Riverside Cottage will immediately capture your heart. The stylish property is the epitome of the dream modern country cottage with all of the charm of a period property bought directly into the 21st Century thanks to its spacious living areas filled with natural light, high-quality furnishings, and two beautiful bedrooms. The mid-terrace cottage is ideal for couples or small families but can accommodate up to six people to make it perfect for bigger families as well. The location, just a short stroll along the river from the centre of historic Bakewell with its plentiful shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, is fantastic as it is conveniently central yet wonderfully peaceful.
Bakewell is the ideal base for a memorable cottage holiday in the Peak District National Park, especially for first-time visitors. Everything you need is right here either in the excellent array of shops or at the lively Monday market where more than 100 sellers arrive to tempt you with an exciting range of local food and other produce. The market is the only one of its type within the Peak District and has been a fixture in the local weekly calendar since 1330.
As lovely as the cottage is - and it's exceptionally charming! - the beauty of the landscape will tempt you outdoors. The Peak District National Park provides the perfect activity for everyone whether you want to stroll around a manicured garden before enjoying afternoon tea or to spend the day climbing up a mountain and rewarding yourself with a backpack picnic at the top. Riverside strolls, a spot of fly-fishing or a muddy mountain bike ride are all within easy reach to allow you to tailor the perfect holiday.
One of the most famous landmarks in the Peak District is the magnificent facade of Chatsworth House. It is a must-see while you are in the area and it's best to put aside a day to ensure you don't miss a thing. Those who appreciate historic architecture will enjoy staying in Bakewell as it is also close to Haddon Hall and the spa town of Buxton, which was so fashionable in previous centuries. Other places to see during your stay include Tideswell, Eyam plague village, and the stunning Blue John Caves.
There is something for everyone in the Peak District, regardless of the season. From pleasant footpaths to tantalising shops and fantastic food, it is the ideal holiday destination at any time of the year. Riverside Cottage 2 is one of three lovely terrace cottages. Each can be booked on its own or together to accommodate groups of up to 18 people. Please see the owner's website for more information.
