About The Martins

The Martin’s is a spacious, well equipped, one level house, situated on a working farm in North Northumberland’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Three bedrooms sleep six with lots of space to dine or lounge. The garden is outside your kitchen door, perfect for lazy outside brunches. If the weather is more inclement stay cosy in front of the wood burning stove.

Elwick Offers the perfect base for exploring the beautiful coastline, it is two miles from Ross Sands. Walk down to the Elwick Bird Hide and enjoy bird watching or enjoy the gentle noise of wading birds as you take in the view over Lindisfarne Nature Reserve to Holy Island.

Enjoy the peace, quiet, beautiful sunsets and dark skies at the farm but have easy access to Bamburgh with its stunning castle and beach, buy an ice cream or choose from coffee shops, pubs or restaurants. Take a Farne Island Boat trip from Seahouses, see the puffins, seals and guillemots and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins. Holy Island castle, priory and harbour are a must visit, remember to check the tide times! Alnwick Castle and Gardens are highly recommended and a trip to Barter books. Berwick upon Tweed has a history to tell, walk round the old town walls or take a boat trip on the Border Belle. Belford is two miles away and has a supermarket, farm shop and pubs.

Whether you are planning dawn photography sessions at Bamburgh or afternoon naps in the garden, this coastal cottage strikes the right balance between adventure and relaxation.

Accommodation Comprises: Comfortable sleeping for six across three bedrooms on one level.

  • Kitchen: Everything you need without the clutter you don't – proper oven, decent-sized fridge-freezer, a family-sized dishwasher, plus enough worktop space to prep meals without performing elaborate plate-juggling acts. Doors open to the garden.
  • Living/Dining Area: Open plan setup that works for groups without feeling like a hotel lobby comfy seating faces both the tv and the wood burning stove, dining table seats everyone without elbow-wrestling.
  • Super-king bedroom: The large room has ample storage and soaks up the afternoon and evening sun.
  • Family Bathroom: A bath with a decent shower attachment, and a WC.
  • Two Twin Bedrooms: Each room features two proper single beds with quality mattresses and have garden views.
  • Second Bathroom: A shower room that delivers hot water without the wait, plus a toilet and basin for those inevitable morning bathroom queues.

Outside: Private garden with outdoor seating designed to encourage lingering over breakfast or evening drinks. There's a charcoal BBQ for adventurous cooking ventures, and enough space for children to burn off energy without straying too far. Off-road parking.

Additional Information: There's electric heating throughout as well as a woodburning stove. WiFi reaches everywhere for essential connectivity. Bed linen and towels are included, and the washing machine and dryer make handling laundry easy. Well-behaved dogs welcome by arrangement. A travel cot is available for small guests who haven't yet mastered big beds.
