Guillemot sleeps six people in three bedrooms and is the perfect Northumberland holiday home for families, including those with dogs. It's in the oldest part of Seahouses and features all the comforts of home, including beautiful soft furnishings and a wood-burning stove. The self-catering facilities are superb, but you're only a short walk from the excellent Black Swan Inn gastropub and a choice of fish and chip shops if you want to treat yourself to a night away from the kitchen. Walking from the cottage to Seahouses Harbour takes less than five minutes, and only a few more minutes to get to the beach.
Seahouses has everything a seaside holiday destination needs: a lovely sandy beach, vibrant harbour, and winding streets lined with heritage fisherman's cottages and shops, including Swallow Fish, where they have been smoking kippers since 1843. Seahouses is one of the best places on the entire Northumberland Coast for wildlife watching, especially if you take a boat trip from the harbour to Holy Island or the Farne Islands to see puffins and seals thriving in the natural habitat. Depending on the time of the year, you can book a diving boat tour to explore the shipwrecks off the coast.
A popular activity is to walk to Bamburgh Castle, three miles north of the village via the coastal footpath. The castle is so big that you can see it from Seahouses, and it's even more impressive when you get up close to the stone walls that have towered over the town for more than 1,400 years. Bamburgh is great for a day out as it has a spectacular beach, the Grace Darling RNLI museum, historic St Aidan's Church, and lovely independent shops and businesses. Other activities to enjoy during your stay at Guillemot include an energetic horse ride along the beach and golf at Seahouses, Bamburgh, Dunstaburgh, Alnmouth, and Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Visit the filming location for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey at Alnwick Castle, or drive half an hour north and cross the border into Scotland.

Guillemot is a terraced period stone cottage on one of the oldest lanes in Seahouses. The owners have respected its heritage while transforming the interior into a bright, welcoming space for couples and families.

Outside: There is off-street parking for two cars and a bench outside the door where you can sit and have a coffee or put boots on.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests must bring beach towels, dog towels/beds/blankets, and cot bedding if required. Please note check in days are a Friday, or a Friday and Monday for short breaks. The cottage is a no smoking property.
