Field Cottage is located on the large family owned Whitten Estate in the peaceful village of Lyonshall in Herefordshire. The homely rustic décor is in keeping with the stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the Welsh Black Mountains and the Shropshire Hills, making you feel instantly at home and on holiday at the same time! The cottage sleeps four to five guests in two bedrooms and your four legged friends are welcome too. Field Cottage is one of six equally fantastic properties on Whitten Estate, making it perfect for larger groups of families and friends to enjoy time together.
From outdoor activities, to art galleries, historical sites and family friendly attractions there truly is something to keep everyone entertained in the local area. Enjoy lazy afternoons shopping in the nearby towns of Hay-on-Wye, Ludlow and Hereford, or visit the local art gallery in Pembridge. Visit the pretty village of Weobley, famous for its unspoilt black and timber buildings, or get lost in the Amazing Hedge Puzzle in Symonds Yat.
With miles and miles of local footpaths to explore, keen walkers can find a new trail each day of their holiday. If you wish to explore a little further afield, the Brecon Beacons and the Shropshire Hills are both under half an hour away. Enjoy a woodland adventure at Oaker Wood Leisure where you can go quad biking, climbing, rafting, clay pigeon shooting and high rope tree trekking, or hire a canoe and paddle along the River Wye. For something a bit different try your hand at a Nordic game at the Outdoor Viking Games or take to the skies at Shobdon Airfield.
Both short breaks and longer stays are available all year round at Field Cottage.
