Nestling on a family owned seven hundred acre estate in Herefordshire, White Heron Properties offer a choice of six holiday homes (Four and Five Star rated), each with its own unique character and a high degree of comfort and style. Providing self-catering accommodation for parties of two to fifty guests, Whittern Estate is an ideal choice whether you're looking for a romantic break, a corporate venue or want to celebrate a special occasion with friends or family. All of the properties are furnished to a high standard, beautifully decorated and afford lots of original character and features.
Set in a tranquil position amongst rolling Herefordshire farmland, the surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts including golf, mountain biking, horse riding, cycling country lanes, kayaking, shooting go-karting and superb walking with the Offa's Dyke path nearby and the stunning Welsh Hills. Antique hunters will not be disappointed with great opportunities at Ludlow, Kington and Leominster and there is a Michelin Star pub which was the first of its kind, just two miles away in Titley (The Stagg Inn). For those who want to simply relax and enjoy a taste of country living, this is the perfect place to unwind so that you can end your stay inspired and rejuvenated.
For those who can tear themselves away from the beautiful setting of Whittern Estate, there are plenty of places to visit for great days out. The literary town of Hay-on-Wye, Ludlow (a 'foodie heaven') and the cathedral city of Hereford with its historic charm are all within easy driving distance, as are the Brecon Beacons, Malvern Hills, Shropshire Hills and Wenlock Edge.
The Forge is an ideal retreat for couples but is also popular with families who have an older child due to the accommodation layout. Formerly the blacksmiths workshop, The Forge has been cleverly and beautifully designed and can accommodate two guests in the main bedroom plus an additional single on the balcony and two in the mezzanine gallery. Larger parties can also be accommodated in the other nearby cottages on the estate.
