King's Orchard is home to two welcoming self-catering retreats close to the Dorset coast. These stylish barn conversions have classic contemporary appeal just perfect for couples wanting to explore this beautiful part of the South West. Stylish throughout, both holiday homes are located opposite the main property and are an excellent choice for those with a passion for the great outdoors and wildlife with superb walking from the doorstep, including private access to a ten acre nature reserve just yards away. They are also excellent bases for exploring the many attractions of Dorset including the world famous Jurassic coastline, the Isle of Purbeck and the RSPB Nature Reserve at Arne (from where the BBC Springwatch 2023 is broadcast).
Ideally placed in Creech Bottom, a sleepy tranquil hamlet sitting at Purbeck's very heart, walkers will be in heaven with the Purbeck Way accessible from the front door. Lace up your walking boots and explore miles of stunning scenery with popular walks taking you to Corfe village with its majestic castle ruins (built in the 11th Century by William the Conqueror and just four miles away) and even Swanage (for the hardened walker at ten miles in distance!). You also have access onto the South West Coastal Path at Kimmeridge (a marine wildlife reserve six miles away), and an RSPB nature reserve at Arne for birdwatchers (just four miles).
Enjoy the tranquillity and a cream tea at the cafe in Worth Mattravers or take a nostalgic trip on the Swanage Steam Railway which can be boarded just three miles away at Norden. For those seeking the cry of the gull, head to the glorious beaches at Studland (ten miles by car) or world famous Lulworth Cove (closer still and five miles) where you will find a beautiful castle on Lulworth Estate and Durdle Door beyond.
Take a trip to enjoy the magic (and wildlife!) of Brownsea Island from Wareham Old Quay (two miles away) or visit Weymouth, Swanage and Poole harbour, all offering a wealth of attractions.
