About The Loft

King's Orchard is home to two welcoming self-catering retreats ideally located near to Dorset spectacular coast. Both of these stylish barn conversions have classic contemporary appeal and are ideal for couples (and singles) who want to discover the beauty of Dorset and the South West. Comfortable throughout, the holiday homes sit opposite the main property and are a popular choice for guests who enjoy being active and outdoors with fabulous opportunities for walking and wildlife spotting straight from the front door. Guests also have private access to a ten acre nature reserve which is just yards away and the choice of plenty of great days out with an abundance of attractions within easy reach including the famous Jurassic Coast and natural wonders like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.

Ideally placed in Creech Bottom, a tranquil little hamlet at the very heart of Purbeck, walkers will be in paradise with the Purbeck Way accessible straight from the holiday homes. Lace up your walking boots, set-off and explore miles of stunning scenery with popular walks taking you to Corfe village with its majestic castle ruins (built in the 11th Century by William the Conqueror and just four miles away) and even Swanage (for the hardened walker at ten miles in distance!). You also have access onto the South West Coastal Path at Kimmeridge (a marine wildlife reserve six miles away), and an RSPB nature reserve at Arne for birdwatchers (just four miles).

Savour the delight and tranquility of cream tea, just a mile away from King's Orchard at the unique Blue Pool; or step back in time on the Swanage Steam Railway - a relaxing way of enjoying the scenery and only three miles away at Norden. For those wanting sea air, the fabulous beaches at Studland (ten miles by car) and Lulworth Cove (closer still and five miles) will provide plenty of opportunity for relaxation and whilst there, pay a visit to Lulworth Castle and Durdle Door.

Take a trip to enjoy the magic (and wildlife!) of Brownsea Island from Wareham Old Quay (two miles away) or visit Swanage, Poole harbour and Weymouth, all offering a wealth of attractions.

Location (Dorset)

The Loft is a stylish first floor one-bedroom apartment, located in the East Wing of the main house, with its own entrance and a good degree of privacy. Accessed via an external staircase, accommodation is presented to a high standard of comfort and comprises:

  • Open plan living area with plenty of space to cook, relax and dine. Views over Creech Barrow and Heath add to the charm of this welcoming living space.
  • The lounge area has a flat screen television, WiFi internet access and also a DVD player.
  • Kitchen area with wooden worktops over stylish units, slim-line dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment (should you need the use of a washing machine, there is one available on request). There is a dining table with two chairs opposite the kitchen area.
  • Double bedroom.
  • En-suite shower room with WC, wash basin and shower cubicle.

Outside: Guests have a private area to sit out when the sun shines with outdoor furniture - a lovely place for a glass or wine or BBQ after a long day walking. Parking available opposite the apartment.

Additional information: A welcome tray is provided with tea and coffee. Lots of thoughtful useful extras are provided but there are supermarkets in Wareham just two miles from King's Orchard. Bedlinen, towels (please bring beach towels), electricity and heating included in the price. Short breaks (three night minimum) available during the winter months. Sorry but no pets. Friday is the normal changeover day but the owner will try to be flexible where possible.
