The kitchen sits alongside the dining area and is well arranged for preparing meals during your stay. A useful storage area outside the entrance makes it easy to keep wetsuits, paddleboards or beach equipment out of the way.
Poole has a long maritime history. The harbour remains central to everyday life, and the historic quay is the town's best-known landmark. Fishing boats and sailing yachts line the water while cafés and pubs overlook the harbour wall. Boat trips run throughout the day, travelling around the islands of Poole Harbour or across to Brownsea Island. This peaceful nature reserve is known for its woodland paths and its red squirrel population. Inland from the quay, Poole's streets are filled with shops, cafés and local markets. Poole Park is another pleasant place to wander, with lakeside paths and open green spaces beside the water.
The surrounding coastline offers plenty of memorable places to explore. Sandbanks lies only a short drive away and is known for its wide sandy beach and calm waters. From here, the chain ferry crosses to Studland and the Isle of Purbeck. This marks the beginning of the Jurassic Coast, where dramatic cliffs rise above the sea, and historic landmarks appear along the shoreline. Old Harry Rocks, Corfe Castle and the beaches around Studland are all within easy reach. Bournemouth sits further along the coast with its gardens, pier and lively seafront.
