The Big Barn is a self-catering holiday cottage in North Wales, sleeping 12 people in six bedrooms with four bathrooms. Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome, making this property perfect for families, extended families, and friends. Uncluttered interiors with comfortable furnishings and huge windows to frame the tranquil views ensure guests of all ages can relax and enjoy their surroundings. The holiday rental is one of four high-quality properties on the family-run Glan Clwyd Isa estate a mile from Bodfari and the Dinorben Arms pub. The venue accommodates 26 guests when booked together (including a separate studio in the main house), and is ideal for milestone celebrations and reunions with family and friends.
Glan Clwyd Isa is in one of the best spots in the entire Vale of Clwyd. It sits on 30 private acres in a prime location with jaw-dropping views. You won't be surprised to learn that it's a popular choice for countryside weddings and other events. Anglers love having a lake pond and a private stretch of the River Clwyd to fish, and there is on-site grazing for guests who want to bring their horses. You aren't mistaken for thinking there is something magical about the location. This part of North Wales is rich in myth and folklore, including a legend about the Cae Caled fairies. There is an annual Faery Festival every summer in Llangollen, just half an hour from the barn.
One of the best reasons to stay at The Big Barn is the wide variety of activities. We've mentioned fishing and horse riding, but you also have great access to excellent trails, footpaths and bridleways for walks to suit all abilities, including Offa's Dyke. Mountain biking is popular all year round, while the landscape and thermals make this area a favourite for paragliding. The traditional seaside resort of Llandudno is only half an hour away, its Victorian pier and buildings looking positively modern compared with the Roman ruins in Chester, also half an hour's drive. Anglesey is under an hour from Glan Clwyd Isa, and Snowdon and the national park are even closer. Groceries and other amenities are in Denbeigh (five miles) and Ruthin (eight miles).
Guests rave about the warm welcome, attention to detail, and incredible views from The Big Barn and the grounds. The house has a private outdoor hot tub and shared use of a heated swimming pool which is available from July to the end of September.
