About Nuide Farmhouse

Nuide Farmhouse should feel imposing. After all, it's enormous, sleeping ten people in five bedrooms with extensive grounds and spectacular views of the Monadhliath Mountains. Despite its size and elegant traditional features, it is homely and welcoming, providing families and friends with a comfortable place to settle in and relax during their self-catering holiday in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. The holiday home is in a peaceful location between Newtonmore and Kingussie in the Spey Valley, within easy reach of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.

The majestic beauty of the Spey Valley will take your breath away. If your Highland holiday dream features mountains, lochs, castles and more than a sprinkling of history and culture, you'll love it here. Nuide House is in the upper Spey Valley, around 11 miles from Aviemore, where you'll find an excellent array of amenities. Come in winter for skiing and snowboarding, or visit during the milder seasons for hiking, mountain biking, horseriding, golf, and fly fishing on the River Spey, which is widely regarded as one of the finest rivers for salmon in Scotland. You're just two miles from the award-winning Highland Folk Museum and even closer to Newtonmore Golf Club. Also nearby is a museum dedicated to the history of Clan Macpherson - a must if you are a descendant or have an interest in Scottish history and the Jacobites, and Cawdor Castle.

Nuide Farmhouse is well-equipped for families, extended families, and groups of friends. There is a vast choice of walking trails and cycling routes with bicycle hire available locally. The Cairngorms is the UK's largest national park and features four of the UK's five highest mountains, guaranteeing you spectacular views in all directions. Local attractions and activities include Britain's most elevated funicular railway, the Cairngorm Sleddog Centre, and the Highland Wildlife Park. Go wild swimming, paddleboarding or canoeing from Loch Morlich Beach, take a cruise and look for Nessie on Loch Ness, or have your lunch at Loch an Eilein, voted by visitors as the best picnic spot in the UK. Nuide farmhouse is on the family-run 23,000-acre Railia Estate, where guests can enjoy seasonal shooting and deer stalking.

Accommodation Comprises:

Nuide Farmhouse is a detached period property with private gardens and accommodation over three levels. It is well heated and comfortably furnished to be welcoming in all seasons.

Ground Floor:

  • Spacious sitting room featuring an open fire and comfortable seating. It's the perfect place to unwind at the end of a day's sightseeing and activities.
  • Second sitting room with a TV with Sky channels, and sofas. It's a favourite with teenagers and children to have a place to relax away from the adults.
  • Large kitchen centred around an electric range cooker. Efficient appliances include a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a Nespresso coffee maker. There is lots of bench space for preparing meals, and the cupboards are well-stocked with crockery, glasses, equipment and utensils.
  • Two dining rooms. One next to the kitchen and another, more formal space for memorable meals.
  • Handy utility room with a chest freezer and a washer/dryer.

First Floor:

  • Double bedroom with fantastic views from the bay window. There is a comfortable queen-sized bed, built-in storage, and an ensuite with a bath, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.
  • A second double suite is similarly furnished with a queen-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds, ample storage, a handbasin, and an armchair where you can sit and read or admire the views.
  • Two bathrooms, one with a bath and the other with a shower over the bath. Both also have a handbasin and a WC.

Top Floor:

  • Two twin rooms each with two full-sized single beds and plenty of ceiling height. Beds are made up for the arrival of guests with quality bed linen and bath towels provided.

Outside: A beautifully maintained enclosed garden has a lawn, mature trees and shrubs, and a seating area with a barbecue. There is ample parking for cars.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included with the hire of Nuide Farmhouse. Well-behaved dogs are considered - please enquire before booking. Short breaks may be possible depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
