Beach Cottage turns the usual seaside-house layout on its head for a very good reason. The three bedrooms are downstairs, leaving the entire first floor for living, cooking and eating with the view stretched out in front of you. From the lounge and balcony, Benllech Bay fills the outlook, with Puffin Island beyond and, on a clear day, the Great Orme and coastline towards Colwyn Bay in the distance. This three-bedroom holiday cottage sleeps five in a double, twin and single room and has been extensively refurbished, including the addition of the balcony and solar powered electric central heating. The open-plan living area is relaxed and practical, with a 43-inch Smart TV, books and games, while the kitchen is equipped for proper self-catering rather than just reheating a takeaway. Downstairs, the enclosed patio provides another outdoor spot, and up to two dogs are welcome.
The beach is close enough that a forgotten towel or lunch are easy to pop back for. Benllech's sandy, dog-friendly beach is about 100 yards from the property, while The Benllech pub is about a three-minute walk and the supermarket about five minutes away. Benllech itself is well supplied for a small seaside village, with supermarkets, cafés, independent shops, pubs, fish and chip shops and Chinese and Indian takeaways. The Anglesey Coast Path runs alongside the beach, so you can start walking almost as soon as you leave the cottage. Follow the coast towards Red Wharf Bay for another broad sweep of sand and a choice of places to stop for food or a drink. Golfers have Storws Wen Golf Club around 1.5 miles away, while angling, sea fishing and watersports are also available locally.
There's lots to justify leaving the beach for a day, particularly if you enjoy castles and historic places. Beaumaris Castle, Edward I’s famously unfinished fortress, is one of four North Wales castles included in a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross the Menai Strait to add imposing Caernarfon Castle to the itinerary, or continue into Llanberis for the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Trains climb Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), with summit services reaching Hafod Eryri when conditions and the operating schedule allow. Plas Newydd is closer to home, with a Grade I listed house and gardens overlooking the Menai Strait, while families can spend a day at GreenWood Family Park. For something faster, Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry near Bethesda has its famous zip-line adventures. Conwy Castle and its medieval walled town are also achievable for a longer day out. Then there’s Anglesey itself: miles of coast path, Beaumaris waterfront, hidden coves and beaches, all with Beach Cottage and its balcony overlooking Benllech Bay waiting at the end of the day.

The first-floor balcony has outdoor furniture and wide views across the bay. At ground level there is an enclosed private patio with furniture and an outside tap. Beach Cottage is positioned away from the road in a private courtyard. On-site parking is available for two cars, including one designated space outside the property.
Additional Information
Up to two dogs are welcome by arrangement and a small surcharge. Solar powered electric central heating, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available - please request these before arrival. Guests will need to provide beach towels and cot bedding if needed.
