91 Grove Road is a pretty redbrick holiday cottage with a wood burner, a private garden enclosed by a picket fence, and accommodation for four people in two bedrooms. It's in Friston, a 3-minute stroll from the village pub, The Old Chequers, and near the village green and playground. Factor in views over fields to the church and access to footpaths and cycling routes from the door, and it's not surprising that couples and families will like this self catering property while appreciating the countryside.
Friston is a friendly rural community surrounded by arable fields linked by lanes and footpaths. Just over three miles from Saxmundham, it's close enough to walk or cycle to the town's independent shops, Wednesday market, museum, art gallery and cafe. Tesco and Waitrose are available for all your grocery needs. More places to eat, drink and shop are four miles from the house in Aldeburgh. We highly recommend booking at one of Aldeburgh's excellent restaurants or paying a visit to the deli for local goodies.
Days out include visiting Snape Maltings, English Heritage's Framlingham Castle, and RSPB Minsmere for walking and bird watching. Friston is on the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with endless miles of footpaths, lanes, and bridleways to help you explore and discover some of the best views in the southeast. Southwold's pier and sandy beach are an easy drive from the cottage, as are Walberswick and Orford Ness.
Guests staying at 91 Grove Road will appreciate having an enclosed garden but not 100% dog proof, with a gate that opens into the countryside and fantastic views.
