1Forge Cottage is in the delightful Suffolk village of Friston. The semi-detached holiday home has views over the village green and playground and is a short stroll from the pub, The Old Chequers. The former forge has been beautifully converted to sleep three people in two bedrooms, with excellent self-catering facilities, a private courtyard garden, and a welcoming home-away-from atmosphere guests appreciate. It's ideal for couples or small families, including those with dogs. It puts you within easy reach of Suffolk's heavenly coastline and gives direct access to fantastic footpaths for long country walks.
This might be the first time you've heard of Friston, but once visited, it's a place you won't forget. It's a typical English village in a rural location on the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heath's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A lot of the surrounding scenery is of arable farms, which look lovely in all seasons, whether full of flourishing crops or covered in a hoar frost. Do your shopping in the ancient market town of Saxmundham where there has been a regular market here since 1272. Market day is Wednesday, and there is a good variety of independent shops, a Waitrose supermarket, cafes and pubs open all week. Aldeburgh is another great place to shop.
Day trips can include visiting Framlingham Castle, walking along Southwold Pier, or bird watching at RSPB Minsmere. Other places to visit are Walberswick, Thorpeness, and Orford Ness. Snape Maltings is 2.5 miles from the cottage, while Aldeburgh is only four miles away. There's almost always something on in Suffolk, like music festivals and country shows. It's worth checking out the local calendar to see what's on while you are there.

1 Forge Cottage has accommodation over two levels. Its age and some character features like lower doorways and open-sided stairs mean it is not suitable for guests with very young children or with mobility issues.

Outside: The enclosed rear garden has seating and bicycle storage. There is a driveway with parking for two cars.
Additional Information: Two dogs are welcome by arrangement. WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Smoking is not allowed.
