The long history of slate mining in Blaenau Ffestiniog means that it’s an excellent place to learn more about the tradition, and there’s nowhere better to do that than at Llechwedd. The Deep Mine Tours offered here to take you right down into the heart of the landscape and tell the story of the area from the perspective of the mineworkers who used to spend their days here.
Another of the most popular tourist attractions in the area is Zip World Caverns which offers the unique chance to explore the underground caves of Blaenau Ffestiniog via a series of rope bridges, zip lines and trampoline tunnels.
