About The Old Coastguard Station

The Old Coastguard Station is a gorgeous holiday home sitting right on the water's edge in the pretty coastal town of Amble on the Northumberland coast. The bright and airy house cleverly combines easy holiday living with a sense of indulgence, making it easy to relax whilst on holiday here. Boasting four ensuite bedrooms, stunning panoramic sea views, contemporary open plan living and a games room, it is perfect for families, extended families and friends who want a large dose of sea air combined with the convenience of restaurants, cafes and independent shops with easy strolling distance of the house.

You couldn't get closer to the sea if you tried. Step outside the house and straight onto the beach where you can explore rock pools, build sandcastles and dip your toes into the sea. Take a walk around the breakwater and pier to the harbour where you can browse the retail 'pods', sample fresh seafood at the fish shacks and watch the fishing boats bobbing up and down whilst you enjoy a leisurely lunch. Watersports enthusiasts should head to the beach at Amble Links where you can learn to surf to explore the water on board a kayak or paddleboard. Alternatively, head out on a boat trip around Coquet Island which is home to a large colony of puffins.

Whilst the Old Coastguard Station is perfect for beach lovers, there is more to holidaying here than sea air and sandcastles. Sitting at the foot of the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling. Enjoy a gentle riverside stroll to Warkworth where you can visit a medieval castle, or run or cycle along the traffic-free path between Alnwick and Warkworth. Keen walkers should head inland to the remote footpaths, pristine waters and starry skies of the Northumberland National Park whilst Alnwick (aka Hogwarts), Dunstaburgh and Bamburgh Castles are also worth a visit.

There is plenty to keep the busiest of families entertained whilst on holiday here. Alternatively, you would also be forgiven for simply sitting back and enjoying the stunning views and beaches on your doorstep. With short and long breaks available all year round, it is always a good time to visit The Old Coastguard Station.

There is a super king size bed, Smart TV, separate dressing room, armchair, chest of drawers and bedside tables. Enjoy a luxurious soak in the freestanding bath, or wash the salt away in the rain shower in the ensuite bathroom.
