Hickling Chalet looks straight out to sea, with incredible open views across the Norfolk coastline and the beach just beyond the garden. One of a small group of chalets at Wakefield Court Beach, it occupies a genuinely front-row position, where the sound of the waves and the changing light over the water become part of everyday life. Recently refurbished and arranged entirely on one level, this holiday chalet sleeps four and offers a calm, unfussy base for a seaside break. Inside, the focus is on comfort and simplicity, with a bright living space, two well-proportioned bedrooms and a private patio that's ideal for sitting outside with a coffee or a glass of wine as the day draws in.
The nearby villages of Scratby and California are easy to reach on foot and cover most day-to-day needs within walking and cycling distance, if you’d prefer to park the car and forget about it. There are cafés, a bakery, fish and chip shops, small supermarkets and a choice of relaxed places to eat, along with seasonal amusements and an indoor swimming pool close by. Great Yarmouth is only a short drive along the coast, offering traditional seaside attractions, long promenades and theatres, while the area around the chalet itself remains noticeably quieter, particularly in the evenings. For walkers, the Norfolk Coast Path passes close by, making it easy to head out along the shoreline without driving.
A short drive inland brings a complete change of scenery in the Norfolk Broads, where rivers, lakes and reed beds create a slower, more sheltered landscape. Boat hire, cycling routes and wildlife-rich walks offer gentle ways to explore, while Norwich adds historic streets, markets and independent shops for a day away from the coast. Whether your plans involve long beach walks, unhurried days outdoors, or simply staying close to the water, Hickling Chalet offers something increasingly rare: immediate access to the beach and space to properly slow down.

WiFi, bed linen, bath towels, and utilities are included. One dog welcome by arrangement. Heating throughout for winter stays. Short breaks available outside peak season, depending on availability.
