Chapel End is a charming studio hideaway just outside the peaceful New Forest village of Sway, perfect for couples craving a peaceful and romantic break. With its own private entrance at the end of a beautifully converted chapel, it offers a cosy retreat with a king-size bed, comfy armchairs, a small dining area, and a compact but well-equipped kitchenette. There's a private shower room, and outside, a secluded courtyard garden with table and chairs—ideal for enjoying morning coffee or evening drinks. Sway village is just a short stroll away, with a shop, pharmacy, and the much-loved Hare and Hounds pub, as well as two other great places to eat and drink. Chapel End is dog-friendly, and many guests praise its peaceful atmosphere, thoughtful layout and warm welcome—often returning again for another escape.
From the gate, you're straight into the New Forest National Park, with open heathland, ancient woodland, and miles of walking and cycling routes waiting to be explored. Head to nearby Brockenhurst to hire bikes and explore the Ornamental Drive, or enjoy a picnic by the river at Balmer Lawn. Lyndhurst, known as the capital of the New Forest, is home to independent shops, cafés and the New Forest Heritage Centre, while Beaulieu offers a fantastic day out with its world-famous Motor Museum, abbey ruins and riverside gardens. Book a spa day at Careys Manor or Rhinefield House for a relaxing treat, both just a short drive away.
The coast is within easy reach, too. Visit Milford-on-Sea for its shingle beach and views across to the Isle of Wight, or head to Barton-on-Sea for clifftop walks and fossil hunting. In Lymington, browse the weekly street market, explore the marina, or hop on a ferry to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight for a scenic day out. You're also well placed for discovering the Solent Way, a beautiful walking route that runs along the coast past salt marshes and nature reserves. Whether you're watching the ponies wander by, curled up with a book in your private courtyard, or exploring forest and coastline by foot, Chapel End is the perfect romantic base.
For larger groups or a multi-generational break, Chapel End can be booked alongside The Old Chapel (sleeps four plus an infant) and Chapel Lodge (sleeps two plus an infant), all located just a few steps away.
