About River Wye Lodge

River Wye Lodge is a beautiful house in a stunning location facing the River Wye in the Forest of Dean. Big group self-catering properties like this, which sleeps up to 26 people in 12 bedrooms, rarely come along, making this even more of a treasure. It has everything you can think of from lots of parking to a kids' adventure playground, canoe launch and a covered hot tub all within walking distance of the friendly Forge Hammer pub in Lydbrook. Whatever the reason for your holiday in the Wye Valley, River Wye Lodge can comfortably accommodate everyone.

The Wye Valley AONB is beautiful in every season, making it an excellent year-round destination for a holiday with family and friends. There are endless miles of trails to walk or cycle, rivers for canoeing and kayaking, mountains to climb and beautiful views in every direction. While we would understand if you couldn't drag yourself away from the fantastic amenities at the house, those who do enjoy local attractions like the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, Go Ape, Clearwell Caves, the Dean Forest Railway and Puzzlewood. Being close to the Welsh Border means there are lots of impressive castles, including the one at Chepstow.

Not only is the Wye Valley on the doorstep but the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park is within easy reach as are the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds, both of which are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whatever your age and interest, you will find the perfect activity here.

Days out can include visits to charming market towns such as Ross-on-Wye, Abergavenny or Monmouth. Hereford and Gloucester are within a short drive, while Cardiff, Bristol and Stratford are near enough for a day trip. Whether you're into food, mountain biking, history, culture or you want to escape the rat race and enjoy a few days of relaxation with family and friends, River Wye Lodge is perfect.
