Hartshanger is an Edwardian gentleman's residence that sits above Porlock village in the heart of Exmoor National Park. Both the coach house and top floor within the main house have been converted to provide comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation that still retains original character with beams, patchwork quilts on the beds and sloping ceilings. Nestling amongst five acres of grounds, Hartshanger affords spectacular views over Porlock Bay and beyond towards Wales.
A tranquil place to relax and unwind, the only sound that will disturb you are the waves on the beach below and the cry of the gull or the occasional sheep, cow or buzzard soaring up above. Hartshanger is a perfect place for those seeking a coastal retreat where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and relax or walk in glorious countryside. For those who like to keep active, there is on-site tennis, along with fishing (sea and river), pony trekking, cycling and mountain biking closeby. There is also a shop, pub and restaurant just a five minute walk away.
Porlock is a vibrant village with a friendly feel. There is always something going on and the area offers plenty of attractions to suit all ages.
Hartshanger Holidays offers a choice of two holiday apartments. High Hanger is on the second floor and was formerly the servants quarters, now accommodating four guests in one double and one twin bedroom. Little Hanger is located in the old coach house and sleeps five/six in three bedrooms (two doubles and one single/twin plus there is a cot).

Little Hanger is located on the first floor of the old coach house and stable block. It is accessed by a private flight of steps which lead up to the entrance door. A cosy apartment all year round, Little Hanger has low ceilings (beamed) in the bedrooms and soft natural walls. The lounge area has patio doors leading out to a private terrace area of the garden with lawn and a place to barbecue - sunsets are beautiful over the sea and the terrace provides the perfect place to enjoy them during the warmer months. The all weather tennis court is only a short walk from the apartment.
