Weatherham Farm is the perfect retreat for anyone with a love for the great outdoors and is home to two delightful holiday cottages which were converted from the former hay / cart horse barn.
It was divided into two cottages with the owners laundry room separating the properties and entrances to either cottage being on opposite sides in order that you wouldn’t know you had a neighbour. Weatherham Farm affords a beautiful rural position within the River Exe Valley amongst the beauty of Exmoor National Park. Located on the borders of Somerset and Devon, the surrounding countryside is stunning with lush wooded valleys, meadows, gleaming rivers and picturesque little villages with country pubs for a pint or long lazy lunch. Weatherham Farm is close to Dulverton, Wimbleball Lake and Brompton Regis village (one mile).
The holiday cottages provide comfortable and relaxing retreats at any time of the year. Full central heating complemented with a log burner so you can enjoy a real fire. They are equipped to a high standard and retain much original character including old oak beams and wonky walls.
You start to unwind from the moment you turn down the drive and the rush of modern life becomes a distant memory. Your beds are made, fluffy towels await and the fire simply requires a match.
Sitting on the softer eastern side of Exmoor, the cottages are surrounded by quiet, varied countryside in which you can escape the crowds and do your own exploring. You will run out of days long before you run out of places to visit.
The village of Brompton Regis is only a mile from the farm and has a village shop where you can stock up on provisions and a traditional pub serving local ales and good food.
Dulverton (a lovely small town often referred to as the 'capital of Exmoor'), is a short drive away (four miles). Its quaint atmosphere, statue of Lorna Doone, good range of shops, restaurants and pubs is reminiscent of bygone villages.
Two miles from the cottages is Wimbleball Lake, this offers a wide selection of outdoor pursuits such as cycling, Trout fishing, sailing, rowing and canoeing. The coast is under half an hour away by car, providing beaches and interesting scenery for those who enjoy walking and also opportunities for bird watchers. Within a twenty minute drive are some of Exmoor's most famous places including Tarr Steps, Dunster Castle and village with ancient architecture and yarn market which dates back to medieval times. There are also plenty of fishing opportunities within the local area.
