The Shepherd's Hut is fully equipped with a super comfy bed, fully fitted kitchen and ensuite shower room. It is very private and quiet with its own decking area to eat outside. It is warm and comfortable with electric heating and a wood burning stove for colder days or for a warm glow to go to sleep to. The private garden is fully fenced with a little gate that leads down to the stream where you can listen to the water tumbling down the many little waterfalls or watch the sun rise behind the pines from your steps..
Surrounded by forestry, fields and hills there are walks, hikes and rides from your doorstep. Bring your own bikes or hire electric bikes in Eskdalemuir Village, a couple of miles away, to explore the very quiet local roads or go completely off-road along forest trails taking full advantage of Scotland's Right to Roam.
The Shepherd's Hut is a up a track beyond the Farmhouse with parking either by the Hut or in the main Courtyard by the barn.There is space for a tent in the Hut's own garden by prior arrangement.
There is a dog friendly licensed cafe in the village for coffees and excellent lunches, cakes and snacks. There is usually an art exhibition set up in the main space and various events throughout the year.
A mile further on is the Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery with gardens and a Temple, a tea room and a shop. Entry is free and all are welcome. They also run many courses and workshops that can be pre-booked on their website.
The area is steeped in history with two standing stone circles with a mile or two, Roman and Iron Age forts.
Golf and Fishing are available locally with some lovely market towns and Farmer's Markets nearby, great for a day trip out.
