Sydenham Cottage is an 18th-century holiday cottage in Weymouth, sleeping six in three bedrooms, just minutes from the harbour and beach. Hidden along a pedestrian lane shared by only seven cottages, it has bags of historic character, mixing creaky floorboards, steep stairs, and the occasional low ceiling alongside bright coastal interiors and modern comforts. Downstairs, the kitchen leads into a breakfast room and then the private walled courtyard, while a separate living and dining space gives everyone room to spread out. Upstairs are a king bedroom with en-suite, a double room, a bunk room suitable for adults or children, plus a family bathroom. Younger guests also get a den for reading, playing or watching TV. A shed stocked with beach essentials is a particularly useful touch when the sand is so close. Hugely useful in peak seasons, a secure allocated parking space is included nearby, and you're only a few minutes' walk from the waterfront Ship Inn pub and restaurant.
Weymouth is made for days where you don't have to drive. The Old Harbour is around two minutes from Sydenham Cottage, with fishing boats, pleasure craft and waterfront places to eat and drink giving this part of town laid-back vibrancy day and night. Cross to the seafront, where Weymouth's long sandy beach delivers the classic seaside ingredients of calm shallow water, deckchairs, ice creams, and a broad promenade, with shops and family attractions close at hand. The town centre is equally accessible on foot, so popping back to the cottage between the beach and dinner is easy and uncomplicated. That walkable location is especially useful for families, or for friends who would rather choose a restaurant as they pass it than organise an evening around driving. Weymouth also has a working-harbour character that goes beyond the beach, making an early wander around the waterfront or an evening stroll worthwhile in its own right.
Beyond Weymouth, Dorset's coast and countryside give you plenty of reasons to use that allocated parking space. The Jurassic Coast runs through this part of the county, opening up days of cliff walks, distinctive geology and very different stretches of shoreline. Chesil Beach and the Isle of Portland lie close to Weymouth, while travelling east brings some of Dorset's best-known coastal scenery within day-trip range. Inland, the Dorset Downs offer a complete change from buckets and spades, with rolling countryside, footpaths and historic villages to explore. Top off the list with family-friendly attractions like SEA LIFE Weymouth, Pirate Advenutre Golf, and Portland BIll lighthouse, and you have the makings of an unforgettable holiday.

The enclosed walled courtyard gives guests private outdoor space in central Weymouth. A useful storage shed is stocked with beach essentials for you to use during your stay. There is no vehicle access directly outside the cottage, although you can unload luggage nearby. One secure allocated parking space is included about six minutes away on foot or five minutes by car; you reach it through a gated entrance, and the gate key is kept inside the cottage.
