About Barncastle

Barncastle is a charming holiday home that can sleep four to ten guests in five bedrooms. It is located close to the lovely Cotswold towns of Stroud and Painswick and is just a short drive from nearby Historic Gloucester, with its beautiful Cathedral and excellent transport links, along with Regency Cheltenham with great shopping, wonderful restaurants and of course horse racing.

Barncottage can be rented with the next door holiday home (Barncastle which sleeps up to ten) to provide luxury holiday accommodation for parties of up to fourteen - an ideal retreat for family celebrations and reunions of friends.

There are plenty of attractions and interesting places to visit within the local area and Barn Cottage is exceptionally well located for exploring the many pretty cotswolds villages. The picturesque village of Bibury is nearby as is Berkeley Castle, a beautifully preserved castle worthy of a visit.

There are a wide variety of traditional and gastropubs in the surrounding area, and plenty of activities locally to enjoy including: horse riding; walking, cycling, shooting (clay); dry slope ski-ing; golf and fishing. It is also possible to arrange on-site alternative therapies including reflexology, reki, Indian head massage, hopi ear cancle and hot stone massage.

The Barn will sleep a maximum of ten guests comfortably but is also suitable for smaller parties of six. Beautifully furnished and very well equipped, Barncastle is an ideal place to get away from it all with friends and family.

The accommodation consists of:

Ground Floor:

  • Sitting room - the main sitting room is upstairs but this additional room offers flexibility with sofa/seating, plus a double bed, wardrobe and drawers, along with doors that take you outside.
  • Double bedroom beautifully presented with traditional furnishings including a wardrobe, drawers and en-suite.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
  • Two shower rooms, both with WC, wash basin and shower.
  • Dining hall (with gallery up above), including a large table with seating for everyone in front of the inglenook fireplace.
  • Beautiful, large well-equipped beamed kitchen fitted with plenty of cupboards, large American style fridge, dishwasher, range cooker, microwave and table with chairs.
  • Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

First Floor:

  • Impressive spacious galleried sitting room with comfy seating (including a sofa bed for an additional two guests) around the log burning stove, vaulted ceiling with beams, flat screen television with Sky and DVD player - the perfect place to relax in front of the fire after supper.
  • King-size bedroom with impressive en-suite including a freestanding roll-top bath for a long soak at the end of the day, wash basin and WC.
  • Double bedroom.
  • Family bathroom with shower, bath, wash basin and WC.

Additional information: A high chair and cot are available by arrangement. Plenty of off-road parking available. Unfortunately no pets. Short breaks available - please enquire.
