Proctor's Cottage is a large, private holiday home for eight people to sleep in four beautiful bedrooms. The location close to Royal Deeside and the Loch of Skene is ideal for outdoor adventures. It's incredible to think that this quiet slice of Highland heaven is only nine miles from the busy city of Aberdeen and a mere seven miles from Aberdeen airport. Before you know it, you can be practising your swing on your private all-weather putting green with its four holes, two driving cages and chipping areas. Or maybe you'll be perfecting your fly-fishing technique on the lawn in preparation for the following day's fun. The layout is perfect for families, but it also suits extended families and groups of friends, with each bedroom having its own bathroom.
Although Proctor's Cottage feels remote, all of the amenities you need are nearby in the village of Skene. Tesco and Ocado both deliver to the house, making your holiday even more stress-free. You'll want to try some things before you buy, so it's handy that the cottage is close to the famous Malt Whisky Trail. Rather than draw straws to identify the designated driver amongst your group, local tour and taxi companies are happy to provide a minivan and a driver for guests at Proctor's Cottage. If you're feeling a little wobbly the following day, swap a game of golf for a full Scottish fry-up followed by a walk through Royal Deeside, admiring the magnificent landscape that was such a favourite of Queen Victoria's.
Many guests who stay at Proctor's Cottage choose it for its proximity to fantastic golf courses that include Royal Aberdeen-Balgownie, Trump International Golf Links, and Cruden Bay, which are rated 9th, 10th and 11th out of all of Scotland's golf courses. Other local courses include those at Banorchy, Duff House Royal, and Meldrum House. With more than 550 golf courses in Scotland, you're certainly not short of choice!
Other activities popular with guests of Proctor's Cottage include fly-fishing for salmon on the River Dee, hillwalking and mountain biking, and visiting historic houses and castles such as Drum Castle, Crathes Castle, and Huntly Castle. If you fancy a spot of shopping or a meal out, Aberdeen is less than half an hour's drive.
Proctor's Cottage is available for bookings all year round. The owners have transformed the 130-year old barn into the perfect place to gather with friends and family, with all of the space and privacy you crave.
