Cow Byre 1 and 2 combine to provide a wonderfully welcoming holiday property where up to ten guests can sleep in four comfortable bedrooms, enjoying a layout that is perfect for big and extended families or groups of friends. The cottages are part of a collection of self-contained holiday rooms and cottages in the grounds of Beeches Farmhouse on the outskirts of Bradford, within walking distance of The George pub and under a mile from the town's market, shops, cafes and pubs.
Bradford-on-Avon is an excellent holiday destination at any time of the year. The cottage is close to both the River Avon and the picturesque Kennet and Avon Canal, allowing guests to enjoy these waterways from footpaths and cycleways or by boat. There is a vast network of places to walk and cycle, including pathways close to the cottage, and local riding stables provide guided hacks to help visitors explore from horseback as well. The world-famous Cotswolds are less than two miles from Beeches Farmhouse, while the beautiful North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) are also within easy reach. If you love spending hours outdoors in beautiful surroundings, then you will love it here.
Bradford-on-Avon has a vibrant community with a Wednesday market, independent shops, cafes and pubs. The town has a long and interesting history with impressive buildings that reflect its importance in Britain's evolving woollen and rubber industries. There is a well-curated local museum above the library, a stone bridge with a medieval lock-up, and an incredibly well-preserved Saxon church dating back to the early 8th Century. If its history you're after, then spend a happy day or two exploring the nearby historic city of Bath with its stunning cathedral, Georgian architecture, and amazing Roman baths. Step even further back in time at Stonehenge, about a 45-minute drive away. Booking in advance is recommended, and necessary if you want tickets for the special Stone Circle sessions where you can walk amongst the stones.
Longleat Safari Park and Wookey Hole and Caves are close, and the owner of Cow Byre can provide discounted tickets for these popular attractions. Treat yourself to the unforgettable experience of a hot air balloon ride above Bath and the surrounding countryside, or spend a day shopping and sightseeing in Bristol.
Cow Byre 1 and 2 can be booked together to sleep 10 and for larger groups of up to 30, five separate en-suite bedrooms can also be booked. Please see the owner's website for details.
