From the moment you enter the front door, you’ll see this is an exceptional, self-contained converted farm building. The amazingly light and spacious galleried hall with the open plan dining area, seating area and stylish kitchen beyond, creates a relaxing and wonderful space for a holiday. The large sitting room with its two south facing windows catches all the summer sunshine whilst the classic Jotul No.6 stove keeps you cosy in the winter. Not that you will really need it with the stunning (under floor heated) slate floor running throughout the ground floor – cool in the summer and toasty warm in the winter. French doors open off the dining area onto a secluded south facing stone terrace with its own herb garden and wonderful views across the open Suffolk farm land. Then, when you are ready for bed, you can take the beautifully made oak stairs to the galleried landing with its original beams to one of the two cosy bedrooms.
Grove Farm is situated three and a half miles from the lovely Suffolk market town of Halesworth which offers a good selection of shops, places to eat and a large Rainbow supermarket. The village of Bramfield is only one mile away and also has its own locally renowned butcher with a deli counter and groceries. Bramfield has the award winning Queens Head Pub & Restaurant, serving very good food using the best of local produce.
In addition to The Milking Parlour, Grove Farm is home to The Farmhouse (sleeps 13), Alfred's Barn (sleeps 8) and The Orchard Wagon (2), each with their own private gardens. Located in a beautiful tranquil rural setting within just six miles of the sought after Heritage coast and nearby to the attractions of Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh and Minsmere wildlife sanctuary.
Local attractions:
Southwold has a sand and pebble beach with the famous beach huts and newly rebuilt pier. It is a lovely old town where you can enjoy a stroll along the sea front or for those seeking excitement, take a trip on the exhilarating coastal voyager to see the seals at Scroby Sands or the wildlife along the Blyth Estuary.
Walberswick - a short walk across fields and sand dunes to a lovely sandy beach where children can have hours of fun catching crabs on the bridge by the car park or playing on the beach.
Dunwich offers a pebble beach and is less busy than the others. A beach side fish and chip shop opens during the summer and closes at 5.00pm.
