Simon’s cottage is a period, traditional holiday cottage that is located close to the Suffolk coast in the village of Knodishall. The cottage retains all of its original charm and character and can accommodate four guests in two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with two single beds. The cottage has a lovely open plan country kitchen and dining room with French doors opening out onto a secluded sunny, south facing garden complete with dining table, chairs and parasol.
Simon’s Cottage is an ideal self-catering base from which to explore the Suffolk coast and its many attractions. Located in the typically quaint Suffolk village of Knodishall, the cottage is just three miles from the seaside village of Thorpeness and four miles from the coastal town of Aldeburgh – both of which are easily accessible within a few minutes by car or a little longer by bike! The surrounding countryside is an area of natural beauty with fields and Knodishall Common within a five minute walk in any direction from the cottage. There is a local pub (serving home cooked meals), a village store and farm shop, all within a few minutes walk of the cottage.
The wider area is full of attractions and interesting places to visit. The nearby town of Orford is home to Orford Castle, Church and Quay. One of the UKs premier bird watching sites, Minsmere, is very close by as are the arts, crafts, shops and music of Snape Maltings.
The cottage is ideally located for a beach holiday, (beaches are of the pebble variety) country walking, cycling holiday or a quiet get away. Excellent local restaurants, tea rooms and gastro pubs litter the surrounding area – all within easy reach of the cottage.
