No 2 Westgate is a superb holiday home in a fantastic location in Thorpeness. It's a truly excellent choice for a self-catering holiday in Suffolk, being within walking distance of the Meare, beach, golf course, country club, village shop, and The Dolphin Inn. The Grade-II listed house dates from 1929 and is on a quiet lane on the original Ogilvie Estate. It comfortably sleeps nine people in five bedrooms with a large garden and off-street parking. Bookings are only available between April and October, making No 2 Westgate extremely sought after for a family self-catering holiday on the scenic Suffolk coast.
One hundred years ago, Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie dared to imagine a place where families could enjoy a seaside holiday full of magic, beauty and fun. Thorpeness has barely altered since Ogilvie's dream became a beautiful reality because why mess with perfection? The shingle beach, seafront golf course, and country club with tennis courts provide lots of entertainment, but The Meare makes Thorpeness unique. Covering 64-acres with islands named by Peter Pan's creator, J.M.Barrie, the shallow lake is a favourite with visitors of all ages for boating, walking, and outdoor play.
Thorpeness is part of the breathtaking Suffolk Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can walk or cycle the two miles to Aldeburgh, where you'll find a wide array of places to eat, drink and shop. Also nearby are The Snape and Snape Maltings Concert Hall, home to the renowned Aldeburgh Music Festival and other unmissable events. Southwold beach and pier, Walberswick beach, and Tunstall forest (great for cycling and horseriding) are within easy reach, as are RSPB reserves at Boynton and Minsmere, and National Trust Dunwich Heath and Beach.

No 2 Westgate is in a small lane of six houses with a large rear garden and accommodation over three levels. It feels very much like a family home - almost as if you're house-sitting for favourite relatives.
