About Mosses Cottage

Mosses Cottage sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and is a delightful holiday retreat set in the tranquil village of Friston close to the popular coastal town of Aldeburgh in Suffolk.

The cottage offers a peaceful rural retreat with views over open countryside yet it is superbly placed for enjoying the many attractions Suffolk. Centrally heated throughout, Mosses Cottage has a large well-equipped kitchen and a sunny sitting / dining room with an open fire for cosy evenings. There are two relaxing double bedrooms and a well appointed bathroom with both a bath and shower. The large safe enclosed garden has a patio complete with furniture and a barbecue plus a lockable shed where cycles can be stored securely.

Beautiful coastal and country walks surround the cottage with the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB literally on the doorstep. Snape Maltings - home to the world-famous concert hall plus a variety of restaurants and shops - is a short five minutes drive away. The fashionable resort of Aldeburgh, ten minutes drive away, has a lovely shingle beach with wide skies, independent shops, stylish hotels and great restaurants, a cinema and the renowned fish and chip shop.

Visit Southwold for its pier, sandy beaches and Adnams brewery. Other highlights easily accessible from the cottage include Orford and Orford Ness, Sutton Hoo, Dunwich, RSPB Minsmere and Walberswick. Golf, cycle hire and fishing are available close to the cottage. Suffolk is filled with quaint old pubs, renowned for its restaurants, great food and hospitality.

Accommodation comprises:

Beautifully presented kitchen which is light and airy and well appointed with cream cupboards, electric oven/hob, microwave, washer/dryer and toaster.
Sitting/dining room which catches the morning sun and has an open fire for cosy evenings. There is comfortable seating and a dining table with four chairs. It is equipped with a television, DVD player and good selection of books, games etc
Master bedroom with double bed at the rear of the house, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a television with video player.
Second bedroom with a small double bed and a built-in wardrobe.

Outside: The garden is safe and enclosed - mostly lawn with a patio. A barbeque and patio furniture are provided and there is a locked wooden shed suitable for storing bicycles. There are views to open countryside at the rear.

Additional information: The oil-fired central heating boiler produces instant hot water and heats the cottage quickly. All prices include 100% cotton bedding and towels, electricity and heating. One or two well behaved pets are allowed. The cottage is available year round. Lettings usually run weekly from Saturday to Saturday but alternative arrangements, including short breaks, can be arranged subject to availability.
