About Dunkery

Dunkery enjoys an elevated position in the popular seaside town of Minehead on the edge of the Exmoor National Park on the Somerset coast. The bungalow has been extended and completely refurbished to provide a high standard of holiday accommodation for up to six guests (one dog maximum welcome) in three bedrooms and affords beautiful north facing views over North Hill.

Perfectly located for enjoying every thing West Somerset has to offer, including a diverse and dramatic landscape dotted with historic sites and attractions, Dunkery is the perfect choice for a holiday at any time of the year. It only takes around 20 minutes to walk (or five minutes drive) to Minehead with its beach, tree lined avenues, magnificent floral displays, harbour, shops, cafes and pubs. Minehead is home to the West Somerset Railway where you can take a nostalgic trip through over twenty miles of stunning countryside and coast; and is also the starting point for the South West Coastal Path for those who enjoy walking. In fact, Exmoor National Park and the nearby Quantock Hills offer excellent opportunities for walkers, cyclists and horse riding, making this a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys outdoor adventure.

Slightly further along the coast and worth visiting is Dunster with its lovely beach, yarn market and beautiful castle, picturesque Porlock Weir, and Lynton and Lynmouth which are both connected by a funicular cliff-top railway. The pretty coastal village of Watchet is also a 'must' to visit with its quaint cottages and shops, esplanade and marina. It also offers the opportunity to go fossil hunting. Other popular attractions include Tarr Steps, an iconic historic clapper bridge that straddles the River Barle and Cleeve Abbey in Washford, a Cistercian abbey managed by English Heritage and a stopping point for the West Somerset Railway.

Exmoor National Park is a huge outdoor playground that is a popular holiday destination at any time of the year with people visiting to discover its beautiful clean Blue Flag beaches, pretty villages with country inns, festivals/events and abundance of outdoor adventures.
