This is a beautifully appointed barn conversion with original features. It is unique, private and has splendid views to the Mendip and the Quantock Hills. A large veranda provides spacious and attractive outdoor seated areas, whilst inside the wood burner (with free logs) gives a cosy feel for cooler evenings. Dobbie's Barn is dog-friendly and there is a footpath outside the property. There is an enclosed area for car parking and the property sits in its own grounds of over half an acre. Dobbie's Barn has been operating as a holiday let for over three years and has had some excellent guest reviews.
Spaxton nestles in the foothills of the Quantocks, and the region is well-known for the excellent quality of walking and cycling it offers. There are numerous footpaths nearby, including one which passes straight past Dobbie’s Barn, making it incredibly easy for you to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the countryside.The Quantock Hills are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is no better way to appreciate its charm than on foot whether you do it on the 36-mile Coleridge Way or a gentle circular route around Nether Stowey.
Bridgwater’s location on the banks of the Parrett River kept its ports busy even as far back as the 800s, while its brickworks and iron foundries saw its population boom during the Industrial Revolution. Today, it is a lovely market town with an interesting local museum and a good variety of places to eat and shop. It is worth climbing Burrow Mump for the panoramic views or taking a stroll or cycle alongside the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal, while the nearby WWT Steart Marshes is a lovely alternative.
The Barn is in a convenient location for all of Somerset’s best towns and attractions. In addition to having the Quantocks on the doorstep, the beautiful Mendips are also nearby with even more footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes to enjoy. If that isn’t enough to satisfy your explorer’s soul, then you will be delighted to know that Exmoor is only 25 miles away; and if it’s a sunny day, Minehead’s sandy shores and Victorian seaside attractions are an absolute pleasure.
Dobbie’s Barn is a fantastic holiday cottage for someone seeking an idyllic escape without having to drive to the ends of the earth to reach it. Sitting in half an acre of private gardens on a quiet country lane, it is only 20 minutes from the M5 and five miles from Bridgwater. Spaxton village shop is half a mile away and the church is a quarter of a mile, and you can walk to The Lamb Inn (a favourite with locals for the friendly atmosphere and excellent food) in around 20 minutes. Dobbie's Barn is a popular choice with couples but with space for up to four people, it is also an excellent choice with small families or friends who want a comfortable place to stay in Somerset.

Outside: Spacious gardens have fantastic views of the Quantock and Mendip Hills. There is a paved terrace which is accessible from the master bedroom and the living room. A separate barn has laundry facilities and provides secure storage for bikes and other equipment. There is secure off-road parking.
Additional Information: The property has WiFi and central heating, and all utilities, linen and towels are included. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner. Short breaks with a minimum stay of two nights are offered all year round. No smoking. Peak season refers to Christmas and New Year. Dobbie's Barn also considers enquiries for longer lets.
