Calleron has a welcoming atmosphere and is fully equipped for couples to enjoy a self-catering holiday in Somerset. The one-bedroom holiday home in the traditional village of Queen Camel is perfect for exploring the many attractions in the area, including beautiful walks and cycling routes. If you're searching for a place where you can escape to the countryside with your dog for a relaxed summer break, you'll feel right at home in this characterful holiday cottage which benefits from lots of natural light, a courtyard and off-street parking for two cars. There's a village shop and the Mildmay Arms pub a few minutes walk from the door, with more amenities seven miles away in Yeovil.
Queen Camel takes its name from its former owner, Eleanor of Provence and wife of Henry III, and the nearby River Cam. It is away from the tourist trail yet close to fantastic attractions that make Somerset a popular holiday destination. Wander beside the river or make your way down the charming cobbled lane to the impressive Grade-I listed tower of St Barnabas, built in the 14th Century. Anything you can't buy at the well-stocked village shop will be in Yeovil. However, if you fancy a full day of shopping and sightseeing, you're only about an hour from Bath and Bristol.
There is lots to see and do while you're staying in Calleron. Local attractions include the fantastic collection of cars at the Haynes Motor Museum and the historic aircraft at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. If that seems a bit too modern, why not spend a few hours in Glastonbury? Walk up Glastonbury Tor for panoramic views, stroll around the famous Abbey, and enjoy lunch in one of the many cafes and pubs in town. Wells Cathedral is also within easy reach. Further afield, Stonehenge and Weymouth make a great day out.
The owners live in Calleron during the winter, so you can be sure it's fully equipped for your stay. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
