About Kettle Cottage

Kettle Cottage is remote without being isolated, letting you completely immerse yourself in the beauty of the Snowdonia National Park without sacrificing any home comforts. The traditional stone terrace holiday cottage is in the tiny village of Dinas Mawddwy, a short stroll from the village tea shop and the Red Lion Pub, as well as the Meirion Woolen Mill and the River Dovey. The village has just one street, so there is absolutely nothing to block the scenic landscape views. The two-bedroom cottage sleeps four people and is perfect for couples or families who can step outside and into a new adventure every day.

Days out can include a trip to the seaside, with Barmouth, Tywyn, and Aberdyfi all just over half an hour's drive from Kettle Cottage. Browse the shops in Machynlleth or Dolgellau, or visit the Corris Crafts Centre where local artists make and sell hand-crafted items ranging from soap to jewellery and furniture. Children love King Arthur's Labyrinth, and there's also the chance to go underground into the old slate mine with the Corris Mine Explorers. Bala is within reach for a day of sailing, canoeing and kayaking, as is Zip World with its zip lines and underground trampoline system.

Walking, mountain biking and cycling around Dinas Mawddy are popular all year round with hills and mountains including Maesglase, Craig Portas, Cribin Fawr and Mynydd Ceiswyn. Walk around the shores of Tal-y-Lynl. As you're exploring around Bwlch Oerddrws, spare a thought for 16th Century travellers who ran the risk of attack from the notorious Red Bandits of Mawddy. The cottage is only 12 miles from the Mawddach Trail - a multi-purpose route between the market town of Dolgellau and the coast at Barmouth.

There is no end to the fun you can have on a holiday at Kettle Cottage. The surrounding area is ideal for anyone who loves to get outdoors and be active, but it also offers plenty of choice for those with other interests.
