Geinas Farmhouse Stable is every couple’s dream country retreat. This sweet cottage ticks every box when it comes to romance, from its light and airy interior decorated in a chic French farmhouse style complete with a wood-burning stove, to the views towards the Clwydian Hill Range and the North Welsh village of Bodfari. The cottage adjoins the owner’s Grade II listed farmhouse that dates from 1749 with guests having access to fresh free-range eggs and fruit from the orchard. The welcoming Dinorben Arms pub is within walking distance, offering a changing menu of seasonal produce cooked to order and an excellent variety of wine and beer.
Bodfari is a friendly village within easy reach of seaside resorts such as Rhyl, Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, and only half an hour from the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage is set in two private acres in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a favourite with walkers who can enjoy being only five minutes from the Offa’s Dyke National Trail. The Bodfari Bridleway is a popular mountain bike trail close to the cottage, with the Clwydian Range and Coed Llandegla providing more demanding routes for those who relish a challenge. There are also opportunities to fish, abseil, horse ride and paraglide within a few miles of the village.
There is plenty of choice for a fun day out. Seven miles from the cottage is the ancient market town of Denbigh with its medieval castle and defensive town walls, independently owned businesses, museums and a Farmers’ Market on the last Friday of the month between March and December. The Roman city of Chester is just over half an hour by car, while historic Liverpool is an only hour’s drive from the cottage. If you drive west into Snowdonia National Park, then you can reach favourite places like Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog within an hour.
The peaceful yet central location of Geinas Farmhouse Stable makes it ideal for couples or solo travellers at any time of the year regardless of whether they are searching for adventure or just want to escape for a few days with their favourite person.
