Tucked away on the southern edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Caban Dyfi is one of just five cabins along a quiet lane. From the moment you arrive via the newly resurfaced private road, you’ll feel the world slow down. Wake up to birdsong, watch the tide shift across the estuary, and enjoy the call of curlews and owls as dusk falls. The cabin is surrounded by wildlife - badgers, foxes, and woodpeckers are regular visitors.

Caban Dyfi comfortably sleeps four people plus a cot, offering a simple yet cosy stay:

Bedrooms – 1 double, 1 twin (cot available; bring own cot bedding)
Bathroom – shower, washbasin, heated towel rail (separate toilet)
Living space – two-seater sofa, armchair, dining table for four, desk and chair, bookcase
Kitchenette – well-equipped with a sink, oven and grill
Conservatory – additional seating and utility area with washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, slow cooker and under-counter fridge/freezer
No TV, no stress – enjoy books, board games, puzzles, and quality time

Additional Information

Bedding & towels – all bed linen and towels provided for 4 guests (bring your own beach towels)
Guest bed available – folding guest bed for extra flexibility (bring own bedding for this)
Basic supplies provided - tea towels, toilet rolls, and eco friendly washing up liquid, cleaning essentials and laundry liquid.

Deposit – £60 deposit required to secure your booking - we can be flexible on payments if necessary - splitting deposits into two payments of £30.

Dog-friendly FAQs

How many dogs are allowed?
Up to 3 dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Caban Dyfi is a small chalet, so please consider space if you’re bringing very large dogs. Please get in touch if you want to bring more than 3 dogs and we will do our best to accommodate.

How secure is the garden?
The garden surrounding the chalet has 3ft fences within the hedge (so there are no gaps to push through!), hedging and shrubs (up to 4–6ft ), and 4ft gates. The upper terrace behind the chalet is not fenced – please keep dogs on lead there as it backs onto farmland.

Do I need to bring dog bedding?
We provide 2 comfy dog beds suitable for a small and a medium dog plus throws a blanket for a larger dog. Please bring any extras you think you may need.

Are there rules for dogs at PLAS PANTEIDAL
Yes – all dogs must be kept on lead while in the chalet park and on the farmland behind it and all poop cleared up and disposed of appropriately. At Lambing time the farmer requests that you do not walk dogs through the field behind the chalets so that the ewes are not disturbed. (Usually March)

Are there sheep nearby?
Yes – the chalet backs onto farmland and sheep can sometimes be seen in the trees behind.

Is Caban Dyfi suitable for reactive dogs?
It depends on your dog. The area is very peaceful – ideal for noise-sensitive dogs and getting away for a quiet bonfire night and New Year! There are two dogs next door, and occasional visiting dogs at neighbouring chalets.

Are there quiet areas to walk reactive dogs nearby?
Yes, please get in touch with us and we can give you some pointers depending on what your dog needs. We have a reactive dog ourselves so we understand how hard it is to plan a holiday around a dog that struggles.
