Living
The Cottage at Hill Farm sits on the edge of the small village of Clive, surrounded by open farmland and the easy rhythm of country life. From the door you can see nothing but fields and sky, with unspoilt views as far as Snowdonia. The Cottage gets amazing sunsets and is set alongside the farm down a long drive with the odd tractor passing and birds busy in the hedgerows. It's a peaceful spot that feels miles from anywhere, yet you're only a mile from Yorton station and a short drive from Shrewsbury or Wem. The cottage has been lovingly restored to offer plenty of space and comfort for two, with a sofa bed making it equally handy for small families or friends visiting the area.
Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice here. The Shropshire Way and Mercian Way pass almost by the gate, while Corbet Wood and Grinshill Hill - both favourites with locals - offer panoramic views over Shropshire and Wales. You'll also find good walking country around Attingham Park, Ellesmere's meres, and the Ironbridge Gorge, each within easy reach by car.
Evenings are made for slowing down. Pour a drink, sit out in the garden, and watch the light fade over the fields while the farm settles for the night. There's a sense of absolute calm here with just the rustle of trees, the sound of cattle in the distance, and the big Shropshire sky filled with stars.
The owners welcome short breaks and a 10% discount on longer stays.
