The Escape embodies everything a luxurious Peak District holiday retreat should be. Situated in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Derbyshire Dales and just a stone's throw from the Peak District National Park, the property is in the peaceful village of Two Dales and within easy reach of popular Peak District attractions. There is space for up to 10 people to sleep in five bedrooms, making The Escape ideal for large and extended families and groups of friends.
The Peak District has beauty around every corner whether it is the changing colours of the leaves in the natural forest and woodland, or the patchwork fields and drystone walls shaped by human hands so long ago that they are now part of the landscape. The Escape is a mile from the village of Darley Dale, where there is a friendly pub and a village shop for the basic essentials. Four miles away, Matlock and Matlock Bath offer a wide choice of places to eat, drink and shop. Scale the Heights of Abraham in a cable car or spend the day Exploring the Crich Tramway Museum. There is an attraction for everyone here whether you want to go underground at the Peak District Lead Mining Museum, meet the animals at Matlock Farm Park or scream with delight on the rides at Gulliver's Kingdom. Slightly further afield, but still under an hour's drive from The Escape, Alton Towers' rides are even more exhilarating!
Although The Escape feels wonderfully rural and remote, it is only a mile from the A6, giving easy access to places like Bakewell and Chatsworth. Bakewell is fantastic for eating out as it has a wide variety of independent pubs and cafes as well as bakeries selling the town's famous dessert, the Bakewell pudding. The regular market, which has run weekly since 1330 and is the only one of its type in the Peak District, hosts around 140 stalls every Monday. Nearby, Chatsworth House is unmissable, and you should set aside an entire day to marvel at the sumptuous interiors with its breathtaking collections, as well as the beautiful grounds, shops, farmyard and playground. If stately homes tickle your fancy then Bolsover Castle, Haddon Hall and the Hardwick Estate are all nearby.
Cycling is a fantastic way to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and a choice of places provide bikes to hire if you do not bring yours with you on holiday. There is a range of routes to suit all abilities including the Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail. If you spend your days walking or cycling hills and valleys, then you will be happy to return to The Escape with a hot tub and soak your muscles so you have the energy to do it again the following day.
The Escape is aptly named as it provides guests with a wonderful opportunity to leave their everyday stresses and concerns behind and relax in a comfortable environment with family and friends.
