The Cow Shed at Cop Farm is a spacious retreat with hot tub affording stunning Peak District views, just a mile from Peak Forest village and the popular Devonshire Arms pub. Available for weekend and mid-week breaks, it is perfect for celebrating a family occasion or if you are looking for somewhere to spend time catching up with friends you don’t get to see often enough. There is space for up to ten guests in five bedrooms, with accommodation that perfectly blends modern conveniences with the quirky features you would expect for a property of this age, assuring guest comfort and relaxation at any time of the year.
Sitting at 1,300 feet above sea level, Cop Farm enjoys amazing panoramic views of some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Despite its tranquil location, The Cow Shed is not at all isolated and is easy to reach. There are some excellent walks around Peak Forest including a four-mile walk to Eldon Hole. The traffic-free Monsal Trail is one of the Peak District’s biggest attractions and enjoyed by ramblers and cyclists alike.
The Peak Forest Canal flows for 15-miles and boasts the Marple Aqueduct and Bugsworth Basin, both of which are Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Being flat, it is easy to walk or cycle the seven miles into Buxton. The Georgians and Victorians loved Buxton for the quality of its waters and developed a spa town where the rich and upwardly-mobile went to see and be seen. It is still a thriving town, with a wide variety of shops, places to eat, and entertainment. A good way to explore is by following one of the town’s trails, and there is one for everyone from the Real Ale Trail to the Buxton Museum Digital Trail and the Heritage Architectural Trail. Buxton retains its appeal as a spa town, and time spent relaxing and “taking the waters” at the Buxton Crescent Hotel is bliss.
Peak Forest is close to incredible caverns that are a perfect wet-weather day activity. Peak Cavern, Speedwell, Treak Cliff and Blue John are all different yet utterly spectacular in their own way. When it comes to Peak District attractions, none is more magnificent than Chatsworth House. The house, gardens, parkland, zoo, adventure playground, restaurants and shops all provide more than a full day of fun and should not be missed. The charming town of Bakewell, home to the world-famous dessert, is also within easy reach, with lovely independent shops and cafes to discover.
The Cow Shed is as versatile as you need it to be. It is designed for socialising, yet there is ample room to spread out and enjoy the space. It is in a peaceful location with uninterrupted countryside views, yet is only a leisurely stroll from a great pub, and within walking, cycling or driving distances of the Peak District’s biggest attractions. You can stay at home and not get bored, or spend every day doing something different. Whatever you choose to do, The Cow Shed is sure to charm its way into your holiday memories.
