Crabtree Cottage is in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales, close to the Peak District National Park, Carsington Water and Matlock. The spacious holiday rental sleeps six people in three bedrooms and is perfect for active families who want to explore the delights of the local area. Crabtree Cottage is one of two superb self-catering holiday properties at Breach Farm, which is half a mile from Carsington village where the Miner’s Arm’s Inn can be found, a family friendly pub with large garden. The cottages are entirely private and self-contained with owners on site to help with any information or advice on any local attractions. Please see the owner's website for details.
There is an enormous amount of fun to be had within only a small radius of Crabtree Cottage and Carsington Water Visitor's Centre is only a mile from the cottage. Many guests enjoy walking and cycling the eight-mile route around the reservoir, while others enjoy getting out onto the water in a rowboat, kayak, windsurfer, or canoe, all of which can be hired from the centre. Fish from a boat, or take your binoculars and see how many different varieties of birds you can spot. Carsington Water also has picnic spots and a playground, making it a favourite choice for a family-friendly day out. Other places to walk and cycle include the High Peaks Trail, Cromford Canal, Monsal Trail and the Derwent Valley Mills Trail.
Local attractions include the Spring Snowdrop Walk and the Summer Rose Garden at Hopton Hall, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway where true enthusiasts can be an engine driver for a day, and the historic house and grounds of Haddon Hall. Alton Towers is around half an hour's drive from the cottage, while Pooles Cavern, Chatsworth House, the open-air Tramway Museum at Crich, Museum of Childhood Exhibition at Sudbury Hall, and the wonderfully preserved Calke Abbey are also within easy reach. Visit Bakewell's busy Monday markets, Buxton for the boutiques and the elegant Georgian architecture, and Ashbourne for the antiques.
Crabtree Cottage is available for bookings all year round, which is perfect because the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales always have something beautiful to see and fun to do.

Crabtree Cottage is made from locally quarried stone with exposed beams and big windows that make the most of the relaxing rural views. The owners have decorated in a chic, country-cottage style with lots of features that make it warm and welcoming in every season.

Outside: Crabtree Cottage has a patio with beautiful open views, an enclosed garden with furniture. A separate shared utility room houses laundry facilities and a freezer. There is off-street parking for cars, and room for a boat and trailer. Bike storage is available but guests need to supply their own locks.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Short breaks are possible and outside of peak season a discount offered for parties of four guests or fewer. The owner is unable to accommodate pets. Smoking is not permitted.
