Owned by the same family for over 50 years, Seaview Cottage is a much-loved holiday home which is perfect for families, friends and couples. Sleeping up to six guests, this welcoming self-catering cottage is in an enviable position with a large garden and incredible views over Embleton Bay, with Dunstanburgh Castle as a majestic backdrop.
Located in the heart of the small Northumberland village of Embleton, Seaview Cottage is perfect for those who want to explore the many attractions of the Northumberland coast, National Park and Scottish Borders. It is also appealing to those who simply want to park the car and enjoy lazy days on the beach, walking, and fresh sea air. The ancient little village has pubs, a shop, a historic Norman Church and a children’s play area, as well as a glorious, golden, sandy beach that stretches for some three miles, and has many rock pools to explore – so don't forget your bucket, spade and beach towels!
There is no shortage of day trips out when you stay at Seaview Cottage. Visit Alnwick with its impressive castle (featured as Hogwarts in the first Harry Potter movie) and stunning gardens, lovingly created by The Duchess of Northumberland. Alnwick is also home to Barter Books which has one of the country's most impressive collections of second-hand books. If castles are your thing, then head further up the coast to Bamburgh Castle, stopping at Seahouses on the way back to discover your 'new favourite' fish and chip shop (the Hairy Bikers' favourite is reported to be The Pinnacles, but there's plenty of choice!). You can also take a boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands to see the grey seals, puffins and birdlife; or you can visit Holy Island (also known as Lindisfarne) with the chance to spot dolphins and porpoise along the way.
Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach, is the university city of Newcastle upon Tyne (35 miles) and the Scottish Borders (25 miles) with market towns like Kelso, which were just made for whiling away a few hours shopping and enjoying a long lazy lunch.
For those who like to keep active on holiday, there are endless opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding and golf, with Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course close to the cottage offering a superb links course with amazing views.
Whatever time of year you visit Northumberland, Seaview Cottage is sure to provide a warm welcome.
