A short walk from Stalham staithe for those who wish to while away the hours by the river, with a rod in hand (in season of course). Or hop in the car and see where you fancy. A 10 minute drive will take you to the coast and the family-friendly sandy beach of Sea Palling with nearby restaurants, shops, doughnut stalls and ice cream - a real mini Great Yarmouth. A little further down the coast you can visit the seals at Horsey, they tend to be around all year, however winter is the pupping season where you can see hundreds of seals on the beaches.

Great Yarmouth with its famous Golden Mile of slot machines, ice cream, doughnuts, bars and restaurants is still only a 25 minute drive also. Coming inland a little a 30 minute drive or the historical city of Norwich with its lanes, market and abundance of shops for those that wish to wonder. The beautiful Norwich Cathedral is a must to visit also, you really are in the heart of Broadland in Stalham and George House is the perfect base for exploring all that this beautiful county has to offer.
