Wensum View Cottage is a gorgeous four-bedroom holiday cottage with direct access to a fishing lake (which was once an Anglo Saxon burial site), pond, and a stretch of the River Wensum. It's understandably popular with anglers. With its private garden, beautiful wildflower meadows, and sitting just 400 metres from the local pub, it also appeals to families and friends who want a central location for their Norfolk self-catering holiday home. Some guests are happy not to have to touch the car from the moment they arrive until the day they leave, content with the plentiful opportunities to fish, swim in the pool, and paddle along the river. However, with Fakenham, Sheringham, and Norwich easily accessible, there's always something to do.
The cottage is on Mill Lodge Farm, where the owners have a thriving smallholding and a successful fishery. Regardless of the season, it's one of the prettiest spots in Norfolk - a place famous for its natural beauty. Fakenham is only a few miles or a ten-minute drive away. It's the biggest town in North Norfolk and has many shops and cafes. The history of Fakenham's Thursday market dates back to 1250 when the town received its market charter, making the 14th Century church a modern structure by comparison! Holt is 13 miles or 25 minutes drive from Wensum View Cottage, and you can reach the centre of Norwich in about 45 minutes.
There is a local attraction to suit every taste. Children love the dinosaur-themed Roarr! adventure park and the endless allure of beaches like Sandringham, Cromer, Cley, West Runton and East Runton. Pensthorpe is a 700-acre wetland and nature reserve with gorgeous gardens and an enormous variety of birds and wildlife. Blickling Hall and the royal Sandringham Estate will delight admirers of splendid architecture, and you won't want to miss a relaxing visit to the fields of Norfolk Lavender. Play golf in Fakenham, Sheringham, Dereham, and the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club in Brancaster. Time your visit to coincide with a day at Fakenham Racecourse or fulfil a dream and ride a horse along the sand at Holkham Beach.
Wensum View Cottage is child and dog-friendly. Guests appreciate the location being peaceful yet handy for beaches and other North Norfolk attractions.

A warm welcome always awaits guests staying at the lovely redbrick Wensum View Cottage. Formerly a stable and now a spacious bungalow, accommodation is entirely on the ground floor.
Outside: Enclosed with a fence, the garden has a level lawn for playing and a sheltered sun-trap courtyard. Guests have private use of the heated indoor pool while staying at Wensum View Cottage. Guests have direct access to three fishing areas and off-street parking.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels, and seasonal fishing are included when you hire Wensum View Cottage. Up to three dogs are welcome by arrangement for no additional cost. There is a ladies boutique onsite run by Ewa. Please note that there is a discount for up to four guests - please contact the owner for more details. Smoking is not allowed inside.
