Spacious and welcoming, it's ideal for groups of family and friends who want to stay in comfort while enjoying a long-awaited reunion, special celebration, or relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of busy daily life. There's space for 23 people to sleep and dine, with Scotgate Cottage sleeping 17 people in 7 bedrooms while the Barn Annex sleeps 6. Amenities include an indoor pool and sauna, five acres of gardens and parkland, a carp lake for fishing, a tennis court, and a games room. This fantastic venue offers a variety of activities to keep you entertained, and it's only eight miles north of Thetford on the edge of Thetford Forest Park and half a mile from The Eagle pub in Great Hockham. This property is dog friendly and it is a £30 per dog fee.
Thetford and the surrounding region are gorgeous spots for a self-catering holiday with friends in Norfolk. It has miles of cycling routes and footpaths and is blessed with a satellite of pretty villages like Hockham, where you'll find independent tea rooms, farm shops, and artisan producers crafting beautiful food and objects. You don't need to look much further, and you're in the ancient city of Norwich or sunning yourself on the sandy beaches of the spectacular Norfolk coast. Bury St Edmunds has impressive Georgian buildings and a twice-weekly market every Wednesday and Saturday. It is only 20 miles from Scotgate Cottage.
Days out can include sightseeing and punting on the River Cam in Cambridge or strolling in the Suffolk seaside town of Lowestoft. Alternatively, stay at the house and arrange for a massage and beauty therapist to treat you to a pamper party. When it's time to leave, there's no better souvenir to take home than a bottle of Scotgate rum, gin and schnapps to relive the happy memories when you get home.

Scotgate Cottage is a rural 1950s holiday home in Norfolk with accommodation over two floors. You will have sole use of the house and grounds.

Scotgate Barn: a modern barn conversion next to the main house sleeps four people in two bedrooms with space for two more on a sofa bed in the living room. It's completely self-contained, with a kitchen and a shower room.
Outside: Scotgate Cottage has a patio courtyard with seating, a Tiki Bar, a pizza oven, and a BBQ. A further 5 acres feature a carp lake for fishing, tennis court, lawns, and gardens.
Additional Information: Check in from 4pm and check out before 10am. Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement and for an additional fee. Smoking indoors is not allowed. Also provided – One travel cot, one highchair, hair dryer per bedroom, iron with ironing board and outdoor dog kennel (if required)
