About Home Farm House

Home Farm House is a spacious holiday property that is perfect for families, extended families and friends. It sleeps up to 10 people in five beautiful bedrooms and is in the sleepy Norfolk village of Suffield Common, a few miles from Aylesham and within easy reach of both the Norfolk Broads National Park and the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Norfolk is the perfect year-round holiday destination. There are stunning beaches, beautiful countryside and the amazing Broads which are unlike any other landscape in Britain. The choice of activities is never-ending so, no matter what the ages or interests of your party, you'll find it easy to keep everyone happily entertained.

Although Home Farm House feels quite rural, visitors have an excellent variety of places to shop nearby. There is a big Waitrose supermarket less than three miles from the door and more choice in North Walsham, Cromer and Aylsham. There is also an excellent choice of local pubs and restaurants for times you do not want to cook.

One of the most iconic sights in Norfolk - Cromer Pier - is only eight miles from Home Farm House. It is the jewel in this famous seaside resort town where visitors can spend a lazy day building sandcastles and eating deliciously fresh crab and lobster caught in local waters. Waterbabies will adore being just seven miles from the northern Broads, with all the potential for sailing and messing about on the water. Stay dry and explore on land using the vast network of footpaths that encompass the coast and the countryside. The relatively flat landscape appeals to cyclists, and there is a variety of Quiet Lanes routes to suit every ability.

Local attractions include beWILDerwood, Felmingham Mill Lakes and Blickling Lake for anglers, and National Trust properties like Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall. Mundesley, Trimingham and Overstrand are all perfect for a lazy day at the beach, while the magnificent medieval city of Norwich is only 17 miles from the door. You could not find a better location for easy exploration of Norfolk's best sights and attractions.

Location (Norfolk)

Accommodation Comprises:

Home Farm House is an elegant period property with accommodation over three levels. It is finished and furnished to a very high standard to ensure guests have an exceptionally comfortable stay.

Downstairs:

  • Enter into the wonderful reception hall which is big enough to act as a reception room. The original inglenook fireplace and bread oven has an open fire, and there is a sofa and armchairs where guests can sit and read or chat in front of the flickering flames.
  • Sitting room with leather sofas facing the TV and the log burner. The owners have provided a choice of books and family-friendly games, as well as information about the local area to help plan your next day's adventure.
  • Snug with a sofa, books and log burner. It is a great room for the kids to kick back and chill away from the adults, or for the adults to escape their noisy offspring for a bit of peace. The original 15th-Century beams are on display.
  • Huge kitchen/breakfast room with feature brick walls and stylish limestone floors. The natural textures have a rustic air, contrasted with contemporary appliances and modern granite worktops. The space is relaxed and welcoming, with a table seating 10 people and a breakfast bar. It is a room where people naturally gravitate to linger over a meal or a board game and there is a Panasonic CD/radio in the kitchen for playing music via your phone.
  • Utility room with a double sink, Bosch washing machine, tumble dryer, an iron, ironing board and cleaning equipment.
  • Handy boot room with a hose outside to clean off muddy shoes/dogs and space to hang outdoor gear and sports equipment to dry.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • All of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with superior mattresses and quality bed linen to aid a restful night's sleep.
  • Two of the three bedrooms on the first floor are lovely double rooms, each with an ensuite including a shower, WC and a feature oak cabinet for the basin.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds, storage and garden views.
  • Family bathroom with a freestanding bath and a handheld shower attachment. It is generously sized and the perfect place to soothe tired muscles after a busy day.
  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed and ample storage. The vaulted ceiling and oak beams are a beautiful feature that highlights the age of the property.
  • Big twin bedroom with two single beds, storage and a flat-screen TV. As with the other top floor bedroom, the room has oak floorboards and an apex ceiling with exposed beams. The furnishings are brightly coloured to appeal to children.
  • Shower room with a shower and a stylish oak cupboard and basin stand.

Outside: The exterior of Home Farm House is no less impressive than the interior. A sunny courtyard has a big table with chairs for ten people and a barbecue. There are two acres of grounds which include an acre of lawns and an acre of paddock, as well as a stream and a pond (children should always be supervised around water). A summerhouse stores outdoor games and furniture and makes a lovely Wendy house for imaginative play. There is lots of off-street parking.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided, as are initial baskets of fuel for the log burner. Smoking is not permitted. Up to 2 dogs welcome at an additional charge of £20 per dog per week. Short breaks are available all year round depending on availability.
