Eastwoods is a large holiday home on the outskirts of Sway in the New Forest. Despite its grand appearance - it sleeps 14 people in six bedrooms and boasts extensive grounds with an outdoor swimming pool - it feels remarkably welcoming and cosy and perfect for a fun-filled holiday with family and friends. You'll have all of the space and privacy you could wish for, yet you're only a mile from the village centre where there is a train station, shops and four pubs that include the Hare & Hounds.
Sway is in the south of the New Forest National Park, four miles north of the Georgian town of Lymington and south of Brockenhurst. It's listed in the Domesday Book and is well known for its Victorian folly, Sway Tower, as well as the beautiful countryside which surrounds it. There is a small shopping centre, an award-winning family-run butcher, and a thriving village shop stocking all of the essentials and quite a few treats. There is so much space at Eastwoods that you could easily spend your holiday lazing around the house and gardens. However, being in such a scenic location makes it a shame not to venture out on foot or by bicycle. Kids will love the three-mile Sway Village, Forest and Footpaths Spy Mission Treasure Trail, while the old train line is now a cycle path that goes to Brockenhurst past Wilverley, Wootton Coppice and Brownhill. There's a local riding school with lessons and guided hacks to suit all abilities.
Lymington is a short drive or train journey, or a relaxed bike ride away, with more shops, a traditional Saturday market, supermarkets, and a busy harbour where you can hire boats, kayaks and paddleboards. There's a regular car and foot passenger ferry service between Lymington and Yarmouth, so you can spend a day exploring the Isle of Wight and attractions like The Needles, Blackgang Chine, and Osborne House. Brockenhurst is another lovely place to go for food and drink. Drive carefully past the New Forest ponies, deer, cows and donkeys, which ancient laws allow the right to roam. Milford on Sea and Barton on Sea are four and six miles away from Eastwoods, so a day at the beach is also easily possible.
Eastwoods is ideal for your next family reunion or getting together with friends to celebrate a special occasion or milestone birthday. Holiday bookings are available all year round, with short breaks possible, depending on availability.

Outside: Extensive grounds include expanses of lawn, woodland, and an outdoor swimming pool with a terrace and outdoor seating (please note: there is no longer a hot tub available).
The main house sits centrally on the estate. There is a large, gated outside swimming pool which is heated from the of May until end of September. The pool has a spacious terrace to enjoy lazy days. From the terrace you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful surroundings of paddocks, fields, lawns, woodland and of course the visiting wildlife.
We endeavour to maintain a comfortable pool temperature, however, please take into consideration that the pool is an exceptionally large volume of water which is significantly influenced by the great British weather.
For the summer 2024 season we found the temperature ranges from 22-27 degrees. In May and September this can be as low as 20 degrees.
* Please note that we are NOT able to accommodate requests to heat the pool outside from October to May.
There is also ample off-street parking.
Additional Information: All bed linen, bath towels, WiFi, and utilities are provided. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement - please be aware the estate is shared with an equestrian stable so there are horses in the grounds. Smoking is not permitted.
