About Skenfrith Castle Narrowboat
Based on the scenic Monmouth and Brecon Canal in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, Skenfrith Castle Narrowboat is a lovely boat and ideal for family holidays. The layout is very flexible, with a fixed double bed in the rear cabin and a large sofa that can be used as two single beds, or made up into a double bed with an additional child berth at the front. The lounge is ideal for family holidays with lots of room for relaxing while cruising, and in the evening once moored. The boat has everything you need for a relaxing week away, including a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, gas cooker, microwave, and toaster, as well as a full bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. A diesel boiler ensures that hot water and heating are available on demand.

Canal holidays are ideal for people looking to escape the rush of daily life, and where better to unplug and unwind than the stunning Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park! The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal (aka the Mon & Brec) is a very special canal. Completely separate from the rest of the canal network, the Mon and Brec winds its way through the breathtaking Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, from Brecon in the North to Pontymoile in the South. The canal itself is built on a contour, which means that there are only six locks on the entire canal, making it an ideal location for first-time narrowboaters. If you are a novice narrowboater, we provide full instructions at handover to ensure a successful holiday.

He knows this canal almost as well as the rest of the family, and he's spent many weeks cruising up and down on various canal holidays. In fact, his first holiday after being adopted was on this very canal.

Skenfrith Castle Narrowboat is available for Short Breaks and/or week-long holidays starting on either Monday or Friday. Pick-up is from 2 pm, and the boat needs to be vacated by 9:30 am.
There is secure car parking on-site, and EV charging as required
No additional costs; diesel and insurance are included as standard.
